unable to copy and paste images from website to Word 2016

Hi there

I am trying to copy from a web page (text plus images) from Chrome to Word 2016. When I click "Paste" it only pastes the text, not the images. I've tried doing this from IE too and had the same result.

Does anyone know how to fix this? If I can't copy text with images and then paste it to Word I shall definitely switch to Open Office; it's a serious bug and I never had this problem with previous versions of Word.

    Hi,

There is a setting in Word 2016 which would allow you to configure how Word 2016 handles pasted value from other programs. To resolve your concern regarding copying and pasting images from websites to Word 2016, kindly perform the following:

    • Open the Word 2016 application and then choose Blank document.
    • Click on File and then select Options.
    • Choose Advanced.
    • Under the Cut, Copy, and Paste section, set the value of Pasting from other programs to Keep Source Formatting (Default).

Let us know if you need further assistance.

I've already tried that and it does absolutely nothing.

Since you have already configured the settings and still the application is not working as it should, we suggest repairing your Office application.

Check the article Repair an Office application and perform the steps provided.

    Keep us posted.

I actually think the problem was a specific website which would not allow me to copy its images. I've tried it with other websites and it allows me to copy the text with images. Perhaps it's a copyright problem or something.

The web site may be restricted, as Gerdimae Sal suggested.

If you just want to preserve the content, you can always print the page to a virtual PDF printer. If you see Microsoft Print to PDF in your list of printers, make use of that. Alternatively, you can install a freeware PDF converter such as PrimoPDF which works in the same manner.
