Download full installation files for Office 2016 click ro run language pack

I have installed Office365 2016 (click to run) via SCCM in a base language of English and this install works fine.

I would also like to give my users the option to install different language packs.

I can download the language pack from https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Language-Accessory-Pack-for-Office-2016-82ee1236-0f9a-45ee-9c72-05b026ee809f but this only downloads a 3MB .exe and does not download the full installation files.

I know I could change the config.xml file used to install Office to include all the required languages but this would result in the installation files being over 2GB and most user only require English.

My question is can I download the full installation files for Office 2016 click to run language pack or when I install the language pack via the 3MB .exe are the full installation downloaded to my pc and if so where?

Tim

Hi Tim,

It’s not feasible to download the full installation files for Office 2016 click to run language pack. As you mentioned, we need to specify a language and download the 3MB .exe file to install the corresponding language or use the ODT to download the Office which include all the required languages.

Regards,

Allan

    Hi Tim,

    Thanks for the update.

For example, we can just download the .exe file to our local desktop and then double click the file, it will automatically install the language we need.

    Regards,

    Allan

    Allan,

The issue is not how to distribute the .exe via SCCM the issue is the 3 MB .exe does not contain the full source to do the install.

You have confirmed that "Yes, the language pack file was downloaded locally to do the installation." can you let me know what this location is.

    Hi Tim,

Do you want to distribute the .exe language packs via SCCM? If so, here is a similar case for your reference:

Deploy and install EXE files from SCCM ![](file:///C:\Users\v-allalu\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif)

Yes, the language pack file was downloaded locally to do the installation.

    Allan

    Allan,

If we can't download the source how can we distribute the language packs via SCCM.

For Office 2013 we could install Office with click to run and the language packs with MSI but this option does not appear to be available for 2016.

During the install of the language pack does the 3MB .exe file download the source locally to do the install and if so to what location
