Hi ,

Back in July I bought a HP Stream 13 and received a 1 year trial of 365. I wanted to upgrade to Windows 10 but had a number of issues with doing so. I ended up having to reset (restore to factory settings) the HP Stream in order for the  down load to work. Now its up and running I'm trying to use Word and it's telling me I need to purchase office. On the activation card it states 1 PC and 1 tablet.

I'm wondering what I need to re-activate it on the HP Stream so I can continue with the trial.

When I log onto the office account it keeps bring me to the purchasing section.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated, I'm hoping I havnt lost 365 in order to have Windows 10.

Cheers,

simone.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your response.

When initially started the laptop there is an office tile on the desktop, I clicked on this and it directed my to a page which let me type in the product key to activate the 1 year subscription.

When on the phone to support they told me I should be able to log onto my microsoft account and see the subscription linked to my account, when I log on nothing is linked. It just prompts me to pay for Office 365.

The 1 year subscription came with the lap top when I purchased it as an offer. In the box was an activation card which states:

    1 year subscription

    1PC/Mac + 1 Tablet.

In July of this year I activated same on my new HP Stream, I am now trying to re-activate it on the same laptop.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Hello Simone,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

To resolve this issue we need more information. Let us know the following:

    1. Did the Office 365 come pre-installed on your computer or did you download and install it separately?
    2. Check if the Office 365 was one year trial? Most Office 365 installations come for one month trial and then it starts off with the regular subscription, so check when was Office 365 initially installed and activated on your PC?

Check the above and let us know.

    Thank you.
