Can anyone please tell me how to get rid of the Character Spacing: Don't adjust space between latin and asian text.   This just seems to have appeared out of nowhere in my document and I can't find any way to change it.  When I check Reveal Formatting and click on the blue Character Spacing text a paragraph window appears but does not give me the option to remove the above.  Please help!

I would guess that you pasted something in from a document with Asian language support enabled; in order to get the tools to deal with this, you may have to (temporarily) install Asian language support yourself.

Haven't tried it myself, but this link appears to be on point: Adjust text spacing and line breaks in form templates that contain both East Asian and Latin text. Excerpt pasted below. As Suzanne Barnhill mentioned, it would require installing an Asian language pack to do it. If you don't want to install a language pack, you could also try "clear all" formatting or apply a style that doesn't contain that character spacing setting. That's worked for me, though sometimes it requires rebuilding the rest of the style/formatting from scratch if I didn't save the particular style in the document.

Adjust text spacing and line breaks in form templates that contain both East Asian and Latin text

Configure text spacing between East Asian and Latin text

To complete this procedure, you must first install and configure a language pack on your computer. The Asian Typography command on the Format menu appears only after you have installed and configured an East Asian or Latin language pack.

    1. Place your insertion point between the East Asian and Latin text that you want to adjust spacing for.
    2. On the Format menu, click Asian Typography.
    3. To enhance the appearance of the forms based on this form template by automatically adding extra spaces between East Asian and Latin text, select the A utomatically adjust space between Asian and Latin text check box.
    4. To enhance the appearance of the forms based on this form template by automatically adding extra spaces between East Asian and Latin text and numbers, select the Automatically adjust space between Asian text and numbers check box.
