Can't find Onedrive icon in Windows 10

Hi there,

I had Onedrive working and connect to my personal Office account but now it has completely disappeared. There's no icon in the system tray and nothing showing in my apps even when I "search windows" so other threads have not been helpful as they all refer to clicking on the app. I have made no major changed to my computer recently. The only thing I can think of is that I used to have Onedrive for Business (connected to a different account) but having two accounts on the same laptop caused me all sorts of headaches so I disconnected it and deinstalled the Onedrive for business app. The personal Onedrive did work after that but it has now disappeared. I don't know since when as I haven't been checking if it's been syincing or not. At the moment my files are not syncing to my online account.

Thanks

Kindly double-check if OneDrive is still installed on your computer. To check if OneDrive is still installed on your computer, do these steps:

    1. Click the Windows logo (Start button).
    2. Click System.
    3. Click Apps & features.
    4. Look for Microsoft OneDrive.

If you cannot see OneDrive on the list, we need to download OneDrive again so that we can re-install it. To download OneDrive, click here. Once you access the link, click Download the OneDrive desktop app for Windows 8.1. Even though it said that it is for Windows 8.1, you can use the link to download the installer of OneDrive on your Windows 10 computer. Once you download the installer, run it to install OneDrive on your computer.

    Let us know the result.

    Hi James,

To resolve your concern, kindly check File Explorer if your OneDrive folder is still there. The OneDrive folder is usually on the left pane of the File Explorer. If it's there, click it and the setup page of OneDrive will appear. If you cannot see the OneDrive folder on File Explorer, we need to reset the OneDrive app. To do this, follow the steps below:

    1. Press the Windows key + R.
    2. In the Run window, enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset.
    3. Click OK.
    4. Check the system tray again if you can see the OneDrive symbol.
    5. If the OneDrive symbol is not on the system tray, press the Windows key + R again.
    6. In the Run window, enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Check if you can now access the OneDrive app.

After performing the troubleshooting steps, share with us the result.

All good now. I have no idea what the problem was but I was able reinstall it from the link you gave me. I had tried that before from a different link but it told me that OneDrive was already installed!!

    Thanks

Hi, Thanks for that but neither solution has worked. I found the Onedrive folder in file explorer and clicked on it but only the files and folders stored on my hard drive appeared.

When I copied the address you gave me into the Run window I got an window saying that it cannot be found. I then decided to follow that address manually and was able to get as far as C:\Users\MyPC\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive but there was no setup file in any folder but there was a setup folder. Inside the setup folder there is only a "logs" folder with lots of text doc files. The last one is titled "Uninstall-PerMachine_2017-02-16_121211_1188-c90". It seems to indicate an uninstall of some sort but I have absolutley no idea how that could have happened.
