EXCEL ONLINE Issue: Date Format in French

Hello,

In France, it is impossible to correctly manage dates in French format dd / mm / yyyy ... and therefore EXCEL files containing dates in French format are not usable in EXCEL ONLINE.

If I enter 01/11/2015, EXCEL ONLINE will display 11/01/2015.

If I enter 14/03/2015, EXCEL ONLINE does not recognize this entry as a date.

This is a regression compared to EXCEL!

Thank you for correcting this dysfunction very quickly.

    Hi Christophe,

Dates in Excel Online can be formatted as DD/MM/YYYY.

Regarding the situation, please format the cell as Date in DD/MM/YYYY with steps below:

    1. Select the cell for Dates, then click the down arrow behind Number Format and select More Number Formats.

    1. Select Date for Category, then select French (France) for Locale and *14/03/2012 for Type.

    Regards,

    Jiaxing

When I use Excel on-line I find I must enter dates in the IS system yyyy/mm/dd

I agree the international format dd/mm/yy is not available (only the US format of mm/dd/yy), so I use a format that gives the month in text - see screenshot

    best wishes
