Reset word preferences

I was having trouble printing with word when I bought a new printer and ended up changing a lot of presets and settings in an attempt to fix it. Now there are all these weird settings that are turned on and I can't remember what settings I changed so I don't know how to go back and turn them off. Is there a way to reset word to all default settings? I have read that deleting word and re downloading would not work but am not sure if that is true. I have a MacBook Pro (2015) and am running macOS Sierra Version 10.12.2. I have the newest update to microsoft office for mac 2016 via office 365 subscription (not sure if it "for home" or "for business" but I think for business as it is through a graduate school.

Hi Courtnel,

Let us try the steps below to see if they help:

First, quit all Office applications, open Finder and go to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Templates, move Normal.dotm to Desktop.

Second, go to **~/Library/Preferences,**locate files **** com.microsoft.Word.plist and com.microsoft.Office.plistand move them to the Desktop (Word will rebuild them).

Then try restarting Word to see if there is any improvement.

Regards,

Joanne
