Can someone confirm If O365 tenant to tenant federation is possible with a tenant that is hosted in China by 21Vianet.

We have a customer which is widely spread across there are users migrating to O365 tenant hosted in USA,India and also China (21Vianet). Just wanted to know If federation of these tenants with China is possible or not ?

Thanks in advance !

Hi Arsh,

Sorring for providing the wrong answe in my last reply. After doing more test and consulting, I found it's not feasible to set up federation between Office 365 operated by 21 Vianet and common Office 365 tenants. However, users can still share their calendar individually. Regarding this, we appreciate your understanding.

Thanks,

Chris

    Thanks Chris !

Yes we are looking for Exchange online federation which includes GAL sync and free busy. Since 21Via has data residency restrictions wasn't sure If federation with other tenants were allowed or not ? Not getting a concrete proof which states 21Vianet allows federation with other tenants.

    Hi Arsh,

What kind of federation do you want to achieve? If you refer to the Exchange Online federation to share calendar information as the following article described, the answer is yes.

Create an organization relationship in Exchange Online: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj916671(v=exchg.150).aspx

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Chris
