Onedrive for business camera upload

I noticed that on the android OneDrive app the OneDrive for business account is not allowed to enable the camera upload setting, it is grayed out and says it can only be enabled on a OneDrive personal account.  Is there any way to enable this feature or a workaround that will have my photos saved to my OneDrive account?

I don't really want to have a OneDrive personal account that is only getting used for photos, it creates more steps involved when using the OneDrive app, since I have to switch between the accounts, and when I want to access the photos on my computer or somewhere else.  I really hope there is a solution to this because while using Google drive or Dropbox is an alternative, I had consolidated my cloud storage to OneDrive over the past few months and would prefer to keep everything together on that one account.

    Hi Woznet13,

Yes, for syncing photos on the phone to the OneDrive application, currently we can only use the personal account to achieve this while the feature doesn’t support our work or school account. This is mainly because the personal OneDrive is designed for personal use and it can sync our own photos on our phone and the OneDrive for Business is designed for Work. The photos on our phone mainly belongs to our daily life instead of working.

For the feature to support this, I would suggest you vote this feedback to our related team as this is the best way to improve the product. Many features have been designed or upgraded based on our customers' constructive comments.

    Thanks for your understanding.

I completely disagree, Mr. Microsoft Representative.

I am a medical student using Office365 and using my cellphone to take pictures of histological preparations, patient data, lab results, solved exams and much more academic material which I would NOT consider to be PERSONAL.

It is ridiculous to over-simplify that issue by assuming that all pictures on your phone can be considered personal and as such are not allowed to be AUTOMATICALLY loaded to OneDrive Business, but MANUALLY UPLOADING is just fine!!

Furthermore it is outrageous that a PAID SERVICE is stripped of a feature that even a FREE ACCOUNT is able to use. It should be the paying! CUSTOMER who chooses whether to put his pictures on to his "personal" account or his "work account", and NOT microsoft.

Maybe it isn't up to Microsoft to determine whether photos are related to work or not? Really, really bad explanation for why you must have another, personal One Drive account for photo uploads.

Unbelievable ... I too think this is a major oversight by Microsoft. To assume that company phones for business office 365 users don't take photos is absurd. Please change it as I don't want to have to explain this logic to our customers.

    Thanks

Thank you for your response, but I am saddened by the disconnection of your answer with the needs of your customers. I work for a general contractor that provides company phones to its employees and it is imperative that we take pictures with our work phones. I think it is completely ridiculous of Microsoft's narrow-mindedness on this topic. Just Google it and see how many hits you get from several years of activity. Please remove your heads from behind you and realize that companies do need the capability to sync employee photos to their O365 Business OneDrives. I thought business was Microsoft's niche and construction is the biggest business out there right now so it would be foolish to not release this functionality. Please provide a serious channel by which we might petition for this. I think you will be surprised by the results. You can send me my royalty check later.

    Thank you,
