Embedded video in PowerPoint for iPad does not play audio

Hello,

I'm working with the free version of PowerPoint for iPad, version 1.21. I have embedded .mp4 videos that have audio into a PowerPoint .pptx file which I have copied to the iPad via file sharing in iTunes. The videos play just fine in PowerPoint for iPad but there is no sound.

The audio does play correctly when the videos are played using the default iPad video player. The videos are encoded for H.264 for Apple iPad.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks for your kind assistance.

I read everybody's problems, and how pp on iPad worked for other, but still don't see a solution to this apparently ancient problem. I'm subscribed to 365 and the video on the imported presentation play, but without audio. Really disappointed. This should be plug n play.

You may be reading some old on-line comments, or you may be using an older version. PowerPoint for iPad will play audio contained in videos, including when the video has been inserted in a desktop version of PowerPoint. I've tested videos in .AVI, .MP4 and .MOV (QuickTime) formats that worked fine. In  my tests, audio was piped through the headphone jack, I couldn't hear anything if the headphones were unplugged.

I also tried .WMV, but got a Cannot Play Media error with those. Flash format is not supported by iOS devices. Some QuickTime and MP4 files created on other computers would not play on the iPad, either in PowerPoint or in the iOS video player (Cannot Play Media again). In my tests, if PowerPoint would play the video, it would also play the audio. However, it is possible that you could produce a video that had audio encoding that PowerPoint would not be able to understand.

I tried to transfer a presentation I prepared on my computer using Powerpoint to my Ipad air 2. The software is able to handle the animation and slides but it is not able to play any videos I have embedded in the presentation . please suggest a solution.
