Edit PowerPoint when presenting

In older versions of Powerpoint I was able to edit the PowerPoint on my PC while I was in presenting mode thus showing the changes directly on the large screen. This does not seem to work in the newest version of Office365. Here I just get the presenter view on my PC telling which slide that comes next. Handy but not what I need this time. How should I do now?

    Hi Matilda,

On PowerPoint 2016 for Windows, please click Slide Show (F5) and choose Hide Presenter View. Then, you are able to edit your presentation and thus will showing the changes directly to your audience.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,

    William

There is no functionality which will make you do editing in slide show / presenter view mode.

There are two possible approaches without any third party tools

    1. ALT+TAB to move to PPTs slide which is in the presenter view. Edit there and ALT+TAB to come back to presenter view.
    2. In presenter view, there is something called Show Taskbar at the top. You can click and your taskbar will be shown. You can select your original slides which you want to edit. And after edit, you can go back from the same taskbar.

    Hello,

This is not what I was looking for. In earlier versions of powerpoint I could have the slide in editing mode on my laptop, and on the big screen I had the presentation. Is this really not working any more?

It sounds as though you weren't using Presenter view before but now you get Presenter view by default.

Go to Slide Show and remove the check next to "Use Presenter View".

You may also need to specify which monitor to view the presentation in the "Monitor:" selection dropdown just above this.

    I think that'll do it.
