How to preserve the image quality when Word save as pdf

Is there a way to preserver the image quality as original when using Word save as pdf, or even high definition (like 600 ppi)? The only option that can affect this is the "optimized for" option (i.e., standard or minimum size). But even the standard generate very low ppi images on the pdf. I have also played with options->Advanced->"Do not compress images in file" and save as->More Options->Tools ->"Compress Pictures" options, however, they won't affect anything.

Word is only able to export to A PDF file not larger than the page size and the DPI should be within 96 DPI to 200 DPI.

Try using the free PrimoPDF converter that will install itself as a Printer and has various options for the quality of pdfs that are produced and the way in which images are handled.

    Hi Rose,

thanks for your reply. As I mentioned, those settings only apply to saving as a Word document but not as a PDF document. Are there other settings that I can play with? In addition, I am developer and have access to Interop, so please let me know if there is a way to do it programmably.

    Thanks

    Chang
