Resize text box for Excel Chart in Powerpoint

I have created a chart in Excel and want it to take most of the page in a PowerPoint presentation. I want to use the title from the Excel Chart for the slide. I don't want to move it from the chart, simply increase its size. This I can do by selecting the text and increasing the font size. However the Text box stays the same size and I cannot stretch it out. When I look for instructions, they all say find the "handle" and drag the box to the size I want. However, fort the life of me, I cannot find a handle. So, I cannot lengthen or otherwise resize the text box. Does anyone know how to do this on the Mac. I'm using Office 2011. Thanks.

So, Bob J., you wrote: "However -- assuming it is a Chart Title -- it should automatically expand/contract based on volume of content & formatting."

Well, it's across two lines and crashing into text below. There is plenty of room for me to expand the box, but it won't let me. If there is no fix for this, and considering that this question is FOUR YEARS OLD, perhaps Microsoft should, you know, fix it? Thoughts???

I'm not sure what instructions you're attempting to follow, but Chart Title elements have never been 'stretchable'... at least not through Office 2011Mac/2010PC. [I don't know about Office 2013 because I haven't used it.]

Unlike other elements which can contain text, when a Chart Title is selected a blue dot appears at each of the four corners of the bounding box. They look similar to sizing handles but cannot be used to change the dimensions of the bounding box. However -- assuming it is a Chart Title -- it should automatically expand/contract based on volume of content & formatting.

Without full details about where it was created, the steps taken, how it was added to the slide, etc. it's difficult to say what the problem might be. It sounds like it isn't really a Chart Title element or possibly that the chart was copied from elsewhere & pasted as something other than a Microsoft Office Drawing Object.

Please include the present update level of Office as well as your version of OS X in your reply.
