Thank you for the reply. We can try to change the file format of your Excel file through the File Explorer. However, before we proceed, we advise that you create a copy of your Excel File first and save it to another folder to be safe. To get started, kindly perform the following steps:

    1. Open File Explorer.
    2. Go to the View Tab.
    3. Tick File name extensions under Show/Hide.
    4. Go to the folder where you Excel file is stored.
    5. Right-click on the Excel File.
    6. Select Rename.
    7. Rename ".XLSX" to ".XLS".
    8. Click Enter once done.
    9. Open the Excel File.

Let us know if that works for you.

    Hi,

There are several ways to convert your Excel file from .xlsx to .xls format. Using the Save As function is the easiest way to convert your Excel file by performing the following steps:

    1. Open your workbook that you want to convert the format.
    2. Click File > Save As. The Save As dialog will display, specify a folder to place the new format of the file, and then click Save as type drop down list to choose Excel 97-2003 Workbook. Click Save.

Let us know if that works for you.

The xlsx file come as an email attachment and is viewed with the rinkydink Online Office 365 program. It doesn't have any features except to edit and send back as an email attachment.  The data can be viewed, selected and searched.

The only solution I have found is to tediously copy 10 lines of data with Control C and past Control V into the new excel worksheet opened with excel 7.

700 rows X  6 columns containing 5-20 text strokes per cell. The Windows clipboard memory becomes corrupted after 5-10 copy and paste dances or if you try more than 10 lines. I made a "Dump Clipboard" Icon for the pop up Toolbar on Win 10.  It is better than rebooting.

This is a fresh installation of Win 10.  Kaperski El Deluxo Virus program was added because it was available and I was influenced by media, etc. This was a big mistake, slows everything down and disables unexpected things. No copy paste function at all with Office 365.  I have uninstalled it from the computer. The Win 10 Defender works fine and everything is back to "normal".
