Default Table Styles and Table Style Options

How do you get the Table Style Options to keep a setting?  For example, I have created a default table style and unchecked Header Row and First Column so that the only option selected is Banded Rows.

When I paste a table into the document and select Match Destination the default table style isn't applied and Header Row and First Column are selected.  Am I misunderstanding how the table styles work?  Or am I doing something wrong in creating the default style?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

The table style options are not part of the table style but are actually individual table options where you can turn on or off the settings for total row, header row, etc., that are in the table style.  If you paste a table that has table row heading enabled, it will keep the setting.

True. There is no fix, because these options were designed to work the way that Pam Caswell described them.

You can create an example table with the settings you want and then save it as a Building Block entry for easy re-use.

But this doesn't exactly solve the problem, it's also just a workaround, isn't it?

So the exact answer is: there is no way to change the default selection of the Table Style Options, right?

I think the question was not completely answered. The question is, if the default selection of the Table Style Options can be changed somehow. I have the same issue here, that if I insert a new table into my document, always "Header Row", "First Column" and "Banded Rows" is selected. But I want that only "Banded Rows" is selected at default. How can i define this?

    Thanks,

    Benji
