I have a new work PC with Microsoft Office 2016 installed however the icon set does not appear on the ribbon bar and I am unable to add it.  I would really like to have access to the icons.  Can someone let me know how to get and install this feature?

Thanks!

If you mean

Then this feature ONLY comes with the 365  subscription version. If you really have 2016 version (non subscription) then you won't have it.

If you buy outright you get what you buy (plus security updates) if you rent (subscription) your copy is regularly updated with the latest features.

Like it or not it's the way of the world now!

Thanks John!  This seems sort of silly that Microsoft would include this in their low-margin, subscription offering and not their licensed version.  Are you aware of any way to get the icons, perhaps in an add-in?  I have not been able to find anything close.

I don't work for MSFT so no point ranting at me.

2016 and 365 are NOT the same program (but I understand the confusion} 2016 non subscription is aimed at business who do not want new features added every few weeks. usually they want stability and predictability. 365 is aimed at people who want to see new features as they appear.

You don't say exactly which version of 365 you have on the desktop but many versions allow installs on several computers so maybe you can install on your laptop as well with the existing license.

So this is the answer... and I cannot tell you how infuriating it is discovering this since my desktop apparently uses Office 365 (even though it isn't apparent at all to me and removed my previous Office install.... but my laptop is apparently using the outright purchase. So this means that the Powerpoint I began thinking it was the same program CANNOT be completed properly on the road even though I am using what appears to be the exact same Powerpoint application.

    Brilliant.
