Sorry, but Access has never been (and I suspect will never be) available on the Mac OS. You'll need to run it under Windows emulation or on a Windows box.

I have an Office 365 subscription but was dismayed to find (and hope to have just overlooked) that Microsoft Access is not available to me on Mac. What's the best way to get MS Access on my machine to help test against and develop a simple connection to an external database for reporting/exporting?
So sorry for my completely naive question - I am certain the answer must be out there and is easily grok'd by folks used to commercial licensing, but I am used to open source licensing and haven't had to wade Microsoft licensing since my days as a systems analyst in county government. I just feel a bit embarrassed -- thank you for bearing with me.
[edit]Note: I selected Other/Unknown because while I know I have been using Office 365 for a few years, I can't tell if it's Home or Business.[/edit]

You do have some options though, see: http://www.devhut.net/2016/09/06/run-ms-officeaccess-on-a-mac/
Yes, thank you - I do have a Windows environment I run in VirtualBox on my Mac, and the installation appears to be underway just fine there. Thanks for your tip!

Oh brother: I optimistically misread "Office 2016" in "Office 2016 for Mac is now available with an Office 365 subscription and as a one-time purchase." and elsewhere as "Microsoft Access 2016!" Talk about blinders when you really want something to be true but it isn't!! :'(
Thanks again for setting me straight.

OK that explains that!
Thanks for your quick response.
I wanted to take your reply at face value, but it looks like Access is not only available for Mac but also available on Office 365 (Home and Personal.. again, don't know if I have Home or Business.. but..). See:

I don't get why I either don't have it already or why when I click into it (even while signed in on my Office 365) it doesn't seem to recognize that I've already got Office 365. Maybe the $9.99/mo is in addition to the $5-7/mo of my current Office 365 limited subscription?
...any clarity would help.
Best
