Insert page x of y with Word 2016 for Home and Student

Does anyone know where to find the option for inserting page x of y (i.e. page # of total #) in Word 2016 (Office 2016 for Home and Student for I Mac)?  It was easy with my 8-yr old version of Word --- just go to insert - page # and scroll down through a long list of options for presenting page number.  There are much fewer options on the 2016 scroll down.

You're right, there are fewer options. But as with many convenience features of Word, you can get the same thing done manually:

    1. Open your document in Word.
    2. Double-click on the footer area to open the Header and Footer layer. (Blue tags appear saying Header or Footer, with Close buttons)
    3. Choose Insert>Field, select Numbering, then choose Page. A page number field is inserted.
    4. Type a space, then of, followed by another space.
    5. Select Insert>Field, choose Document Information and click on NumPages, which display the total number of pages in the document.

Viola! 2 of 10! Optionally, you can type the word Page at the start to make it display as Page 2 of 10. I manually format these all the time to ensure they exactly match my client's requirements.

Phillip, why do you refer someone to an Excel forum when they are asking about Word?

    Not with Microsoft.

I would suggest you click on the Smiley Face Icon at the far right then choose the sad face (what could be done better) Suggest they return the method to choose "page of Number of pages" like in 2011.

(In 2011 I believe the formatting was Page X of Y.)

If it still exists go to,  www.excel.uservoice.com/

Either report a suggestion or if it already suggested, vote for it.
