Hello!

I am writing currently a cyrrilic document. Now, I've downloaded the serbian (cyrillic) language pack and installed it. But somehow, the numbered list is still in latin... it is listed as a, b, c, d....and it schould be а, б, в, г, д, ђ and so on...

So, is there a way tho change the numbering way?

I appreciate every help...

Hello. I am having the same problem at this moment. Defining list format with the Cyrillic font is ok, but the letters would be in wrong order. Cyrillic alphabet doesn't go a-b-c-d-e... but a-b-v-g-... i.e. the letter order is completely different.

However, in UTF-8 scheme, the Cyrillic letters somewhat go as expected (some letters are not as in my language, oh well), but it is impossible to start a numbered list using those. E.g. in the "Start at" field I tried entering Cyrillic a (а), so the next should be b (б), but when I click OK, it says "Start At must be between 1 and 780 for this format".

What if I wanted to use the Greek alphabet? It is the exact same problem.

What we should be able to do is define a custom ordered list of strings to be used for numbering. E.g. if I want my list to go 1, 2, 4, 8, a, e, i, o, ђ, (whatever), then we should be able to define the style as such, and the Word would automatically do what it already does (when we come to the end of the list, then it starts concatenating, i.e. it would go 11, 12, 14, 18, 1a, 1e, 1o, 1ђ, ...)

Can we do something like that? Can we expect such change in near future? Ever (since I am using Word for over 15 years now and I always had the same set of problems in different versions, of which this is one)? It would be a very pleasant experience.

    Thank you.

If you use the procedure in the article "How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in your Microsoft Word document" on the following page of the Late Shauna Kelly's website:

    http://www.ShaunaKelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html

and in the Define new Multilevel list dialog, use the Font button to select a Cyrillic font do you then get the option of a Cyrillic number style in the Number style for this level dropdown.  (It may not even be necessary to select the Cyrillic font).
