I am trying to find some lost emails and I have run a eDiscovery search from the security compliance admin portal.

I have tried exporting and downloading both a report and pst of the actual items however the file that i get in each case is "Microsoft.Office.Client.Discovery.UnifiedExportTool"

when i try to run either of them i get "application cannot be started" any idea whats wrong?

    Hello,

sorry - was away last week.

However as mentioned in my earlier note -

I found the issue - I didnt realise that the actual download had to come from internet explorer. I was using the 365 portal in chrome, downloading the file and trying to launch it with explorer.

Did the whole lot in explorer and it worked :D

In regards to the forum thing, I cant provide screenshots because I cant re-create the issue. Every time I go to log in now it gives me the normal page asking me to choose between a microsoft account or a office 365 one. Its not really important, just mark this topic as solved :D

when i had the problem i was logged into 365 from chrome and was downloading the file from there and then trying to open the downloaded file with explorer which wouldnt work.

When I logged into 365 using explorer and ran the download from there it started to work

on another note - when i created this, when trying to log in it would only ask me to create a profile so i made adrian_420 with my company email. now however it seems to have remembered that I already have an account and if i try to login using my email it logs me into this account so i cant mark this as solved

    Hi,

Can you elaborate on "Did the whole lot in explorer and it worked"?

I'm trying to download a report from O365 using both IE and Chrome but get the error message:

    Could not find file 'C:\Users<username>\Downloads\Microsoft.Office.Client.Discovery.UnifiedExportTool.manifest'

Is the manifest file a separate download or should it be included with the report?
