Shared files show "This item is not shared"

Split from this thread.

Another thing: I can see in the "Sharing" column it is shared but when I click on the (i) button to see to whom it is shared it appears as "This item is not shared". To see to whom it is shared I have to click on the "manage access" link to verify to whom it is shared.

How should I do this in the less effortless manner. Do I have to post everything again somewhere else?

    Hi FSpray,

For the "This item not share issue", does it display correct now?

    Regards,

    Hi FSpray,

Thanks for sharing with us those screenshots.

In the screenshot of the permission list for that folder, I want to know if you can see Stop inheriting permission or Delete Unique permission button. From the screenshot, I can see at least you have shared the folder with 3 users. Are they all internal users or external users?

Meanwhile, for your former requirement, based on my test, change the permission level won't fully meet your requirement as use may still be able to print the file as PDF. In this situation, you may submit the feedback via SharePoint Uservoice. This is the best way to let the related team hear your voice. Moreover, another method may meet your requirement. You can check the article of it to see if you want to use that feature. Based on my test, it can prevent shared file be downloaded or printed. However, we need to perform more configuration for files (manage the permission for files), so that author him/herself can edit files. Below are some articles for your reference. Please feel free to post new threads for further assistance if you want to use that feature. In this thread, let's focus on the "this item is not shared" issue.

Tried it with another folder and same happened. Im replying with images in the private message.

BTW it really is not working since users are still able to download pdf files and convert MS Office files into pdf format.

    Hi FSpray,

To better understand the situation, I'd like to confirm the following things:

    1. Do all files/folders have the same behavior? Or some specific ones?
    2. For one file/folder, click the i button>capture a screenshot for "This item is not shared". And then click Manage Access>capture a screenshot. At last, click Advanced to access the permission list for the file/folder>capture a full screenshot. I have sent you a private message to collect these screenshots for privacy protection.

    Best regards,

    Tim
