Office 365 Shared email not receiving external emails

I am the admin for my church's Office 365 system. I have created a Shared account. I can send emails to that account from my internal account and receive the mail in its Inbox and receive the automatic reply from the Shared mailbox. When I do the same thing from my external mailbox, the mail goes to our CatchAll Shared Inbox. I have see the same thing happen for other emails from external mailboxes.

Both the internal and external mailboxes are sending mail with the correct mailbox name typed. I don't see anything in the Shared mailbox settings that would redirect of block the Shared mailbox from receiving these external emails.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue? I have not seen this with any other Shared mailbox.

Hi SKC-PSI,

According to the results, I noticed that the External test message seems matched a transport rule named:’ ExternalCatchAllEmail ’, please check the transport rules in your organization, please check this rule via EAC->mail flow->rules, disable it temporarily to test and identify whether it’s this rule caused the issue.

    Just had the time to check it and found your answer to be correct!! When the shared account was created, I forgot to add it to the group that controls these issues.

    Hi SKC-PSI,

    The issue is that the emails from external users to the shared mailbox are redirect to the other shared mailbox called "CatchAll". And other shared mailboxes do not have this issue. Please correct me if there is any misunderstanding. 

    Please check whether you have set the transport rule or Inbox rule of this shared mailbox to redirect the emails.

    If not, please go to Exchange admin center> mail flow> message trace to check the details of this email.
