Losing Cells Data Validation Rules After Cut and Paste Action

Hello Dears,

I have an excel table with data validation rule applied to some cells.

When I cut some of them and paste in another place, I lose the data validation rule of the original cell.

Is there any way to prevent losing data validation rule when I use the cut command?

I really appreciate any help. Tks

    Ciao,

    you can use a workaround:

    1. Open the clipboard (Home -> Clipboard)
    2. Copy the data (do not cut them). You will see the data just copied in the clipboard
    3. Delete the data
    4. Paste the data from the clipboard

Please let me know if this works for you.

    Ciao

    Ugo

    Ok. That's right Jason.

But, I have other users of this worksheet and I can not prevent someone to use the cut method (directly) or by selecting some cells and move them. I was wondering if there is a way to avoid the automatic cell formatting after the cut and past event?

    Tks,

    Kennedy

If you cut a cell rather than copy, it will remove any formatting/etc from the original cell. Instead of cutting and pasting, you should copy and paste the cell.

I want to have a look at the data validation window of the cell which you are cutting. Please post a screen shot of data validation window.
