Give people permissions without needing them to make access request

I have a sharepoint which I want everyone in my organisation to have open access to. I've created it as a "Public Group", but people are still having to ask for access request.

How can I set up a sharepoint so people don't need to ask for permission?

Or, how can I manually give permissions to a group of people without them having to make a request?

Hi GymnophoriaUK,

You can try the following URL to access the default team site.

https://contoso.sharepoint.com (Change “contoso” to your own company domain)

Actually, I found a more easy way to share the group site to the whole organization. But it only give people access to the contents in the site. They cannot access the group conversions and calendars. Go to the group site >  click the Gear and select Site permissions > select Invite People > click Share site only > enter Everyone.

Thanks,

Ran

Aha, thanks that's exactly what I want!

I didn't want to add people to groups or calendars, just to let them see pages and documents. Hopefully this will work.

My organisation has 800 people, I don't want to be adding them all manually!

I have a "public group" Sharepoint site with some documentation that I want everyone to be able to see and amend. Is it not possible to make it public for everyone in my organisation? If not what's the point of a "public group"?

    Hi GymnophoriaUK,

After you create the group, have you added members to the group? By default, group members will have edit permission to the contents of the group. Refer to the following links about how to add members to the group.

Add and remove group members in Outlook

Add or remove members from Office 365 groups using the Office 365 admin center

    Thanks,

    Ran
