I found out a way to stop AutoCorrect from changing language/keyboard

Hi everyone. I had a same question from this link. Solutions suggested in the thread did not work and I did not want to go into my control panel and delete my language settings.

All you need to do is uncheck "Correct keyboard setting" from File - Options - Proofing - AutoCorrect Options. It worked perfectly for me. If it didn't work, I suggest following the link above and follow their suggestions.

I used Word 2013. It may be slightly different for other versions.

Enjoy!

    Hi Stefan.

To clarify, the options from the other discussion (there are two mentioned in the thread) exist, but did not do anything for me when I changed.

I understand it's easy to delete an input language, but I did not want to because I use the language frequently. It would be inefficient for me to uninstall the keyboard every time I need to write something in English.

Interesting. I have never seen "Correct keyboard setting" in any of my Office installations.

Are you saying that the option discussed elsewhere ("Automatically switch keyboard to match language of surrounding text") does not exist on your installation?

Note that uninstalling an input language (keyboard layout) is very simple in Windows. You don't have to remove support for the languages themselves, only for the keyboard.

    Thanks for the follow-up.

Note that you can uninstall the keyboard layout (keyboard language) for a particular language but keep all other language-specific settings for that language (if that helps). Obviously, that is not going to help if you actually do use that keyboard layout occasionally.
