Word 2016 Symbol Unicode Name Error: Greek Letter "Stigma"

On the Insert > Symbol menu, "Stigma" should be "Sigma" in the Unicode names: "Greek Letter Sigma" and "Greek Small Letter Sigma."

Currently, both the majuscule and miniscule versions of the letter do indeed bear the same shame.

    Terrific! Apparently, my mistake was studying ancient, rather than middle, Greek in college. How do you say "c'est la vie" in Greek?

    You are confusing Sigma with Stigma.  The symbols for Sigma are correctly named as shown below:

    There is however a Greek letter with the name of Stigma, which is

    It is not possible to remove a post once someone has responded to it.  Sorry, but from now on you will have to bear the Sigma Stigma.
