The other possibility is that the broken links are not hyperlinks, but text or graphics that were inserted (using Insert > Object) from other files and "linked" to their source files. To fix those, go to the File > Info page and scroll to the bottom of the right-hand column. Under the Related Documents heading, click "Edit Links to Files". (This will be present only if there are currently links in the document.) In the dialog that opens, click on a link in the list and click the Change Source button. Select the new source file (or the new location of the old file) and click OK.

Are these hyperlinks? If the target has changed, you have to change the link address as well.

If there is a pattern to the changed links, you may be able to fix them by using Find & Replace. You will have to display field codes first, for example by pressing Alt+F9.

There are different tools for this scenario. One of them is ReplaceMagic which works with all Office document formats. URL is www.replacemagic.com
