    Hi,

It's possible that the OneNote app is outdated and this can result to incorrect characters or letters. To help you resolve your concern, kindly follow these steps:

    1. Open OneNote in safe mode. Starting the application in Office Safe Mode can allow you to safely use it when it has encountered certain issues. Press Windows key + R, type onenote /safe and then hit Enter.
    2. Follow the steps on the Repair an Office application article.

Note: The automated troubleshooter will try to identify and then resolve the issues that it finds. 3. Uninstall and reinstall the app and then Install the latest Office updates. You may refer to this link. 4. Run the Microsoft Office Configuration Analyzer Tool 2.2.

Note: If you need help figuring out if your Office is Click-to-Run or MSI-based, follow the steps below.

    • Click-to-Run: From the How would you like to repair your Office Programs screen, select Online Repair to ensure everything gets fixed, and then select Repair. You can select Quick Repair which runs faster but only detects and then replaces corrupted files. Online Repair does an uninstall and complete repair but takes longer.
    • MSI-based: Select Repair and then click Continue.

Should you need further assistance, don't hesitate to let us know.
