Hi Experts,

I am unable to use OneDrive when connected to VPN which has proxy.

Getting Errro Coe: 0x8004de42 when connected to VPN. I have already maintained the proxy settings in IE/Edge. All other applications like Skype for Business, Outlook, Store etc.., are working fine but not the OneDrive.

Kindly help me to fix this problem and it is causing lot of issues/delays to my work.

Thanks,

Ashok Kodavati

Hi Ashok,

Thanks for your sharing.

To benefit other community members who has encountered the same issue, I would like to do a summary:

Authenticated proxies aren’t supported with the OneDrive for Business sync client. Here is a link for the reference.

Given this situation, we kindly suggest you vote for this requirement in UserVoice which is the best way to improve our products.

Appreciate your understanding.

Regards,

Zixuan

    Hi Ashok,

To narrow down the root cause, could you provide the following information:

1.Which version of OneDrive are you using? Please capture a screenshot of the OneDrive icon. If it is new OneDrive sync client, share the version as well.(Right-click the icon>Settings>About>About Microsoft OneDrive).

2.Please share the detailed steps about how you reproduced the issue(e.g. Sign in or sync) and provide the screenshot of the error message.

3.Disable the VPN, and check whether the issue persists.

4.Change to another network environment to see the result.

    Regards,

    Zixuan
