how do you copy/paste from one execl spreadsheet to another excel spreadsheet? When i try to copy a column in which some cells have information and other cells that have no information, the pasted product collapses all the information poUtting all the cells which have information together.  Not pasted the same way they were copies. Any help out there with a workaround?

We've tried replicating what you're exactly doing with the Excel file. The same issue occurred when normally pasting the data on the spreadsheet. We also tried using the Paste Special option to paste the data and it successfully looks like it is on the right order. However, instead of the normal type of data, it is pasted as a picture.

There is a possibility that the way your device handles copied data from the clipboard eliminates the blank cells if you paste it on a different sheet. We highly suggest posting this concern on our Excel UserVoice. This is where we collect, manage, and act upon your feedback and suggestion for the betterment of our product and services.

Let us know if you have other questions, and we'll be here to assist you.

In the first screenshot i have copied the information from the first spreadsheet, column H rows 8 through 18.  In the second screenshot i have copied this information on another spreadsheet to DJ row 6.  As you see it has not copied exactly. It has compressed all of the numbers together eliminating the rows which containted no information as shown in the forst spreadsheet

thanks so much for looking into my problem

    Hi,

We would appreciate if you could provide more details about your concern. Kindly answer following questions so we can isolate your concern:

    • How are you copying and pasting the information to another spreadsheet?
    • Can you send us a screenshot of the spreadsheet where the issue is happening? (Note: Make sure to hide/delete any important or private information you have on it.)

In the meantime, kindly check this link and try the steps if it's different from the way you're copying and pasting the data

    We'll wait for your response.
