As an Office 365 subscriber, you regularly get new and improved Office features. Take a look below to see what's available to you today.  Latest updates for Windows Desktop

Take a look at what's new in Version 1711 (Build 8730.2122).

Microsoft has not resolved issue of images pasted from web not showing in a Word.doc as has always been the case; inline image does not work; MS is dragging its feet and I have to use this program from the university. This is seriously impacting my work.....maybe I will buy an Apple next since this is total lack of accountability on part of MS....no wonder we are not billionaires since most of us make an honest living; none of your empty comments are useful, especially safe mode. That does not fix the MS software glitch.

I am using windows 8.1pro on a Lenovo W550s

everything worked just fine until Office 365 did something to their software; my university tech dept knows nothing of MS Office and refers me to you

That was an image of your screenshot.

I do not work for Microsoft.

As the issue appears to be with your employer supplied Office installation, and, if it applies to ALL websites from which you copy things, I would suggest taking it up with your employer.

As a work-around, you could use SnagIt from www.techsmith.com to take screenshots of the website that you want to copy and then paste the screenshot into your Word document.

You will see what is shown in your screen shot if under File>Options>Advanced>Show document content, you have the "Show picture placeholders" box checked

    With that box checked:

    with it unchecked

Does anything appear in place of the images?  Can you paste images from the web into other applications, such as WordPad?  Can you paste images from other (non-web sources)?

    Hi Irina,

To clarify the issue, I’d like you to confirm and provide the following.

    1. About “MS Work 2016 MSO (16.0.8730.2046) 64-bit ver. 1711 Office 365 ProPlus from employer = images pasted from web not visible”, could you upload some related screenshots?
    2. Do all users in your organization encounter the same issue?
    3. How do you install the Office 2016 applications? Do you install them from the Office 365 portal?
    4. Upload a full screenshot of the Account page in one Office 2016 application. You can access the page via File>Account.

    Thanks,

    Cliff

what do your questions have to do with the main issue of debugging this age-old Miscrosoft bug of not having images show in a word doc after selecting>copying>pasting directly from web to word? Reading the forums, it seems that all the answers are always the same questions without resolution. This has been an ongoing problem for several years. This is a MS Word issue, not other programs. I have no idea what others in my university experience, only that pretty much everyone hates Office365 ProPlus.

I get an empty box rather than the image (much like a text box), no matter what I select in showing image, inline or before/behind text, etc. This occurs when I select an entire web page with text and embedded images. If I can select an individual image, I can copy it. The purpose of copying the web page is to have a copy of the page, with the included images. I never had this problem with my personal copy of Office2003/2007/2016. I lost my personal Office2016 version as soon as the university made it compulsory to use their web-based Office365ProPlus.

I think I will start using OpenOffice or buy a Mac....
