I wondered the same thing and couldn't find an answer a while back so I transferred my Bing Rewards into a $5 Microsoft gift card thinking it would do like Amazon and take the money from the gift card first, and then charge my credit card. I was wrong. By the way, the Microsoft gift card you get from Bing Rewards has an expiration date which I didn't realize. The gift card expired fairly quick and I never got to use it. I honestly don't know if there is anything in Microsoft's small "store" that I would buy. I am sticking to the Amazon gift cards from now on. I felt cheated by Microsoft.

    Hi Ding,

You can use a credit card, debit card, or PayPal account to process payment for Office 365 subscription. However, you will not be able to use your Microsoft Rewards points (also known as Bing Rewards). Check this link for the instructions on how to add or remove payment option for Office 365 Home.

Microsoft Rewards doesn’t have monetary value but you can use it to redeem items from the Microsoft Store like music, apps, sweepstakes, and more. Each eligible rewards will light up when you acquired enough points to redeem it. Check the following links for additional information about Microsoft Rewards:
