I'm unable to install in excel 2016 the add in for ibm iseries data transfer. I have ibm client version 7.1 and the file I'm trying to install is CWBTFCAI.DLL. We have this installed on 2 existing computers running Win7 x64 and Office 2016 x64. But on another computer with same o/s and office Excel doesn't recognize the file as an excell add in.

I found a fix that worked for me after I posted this. Tried on 2 different computers, one running W10 and Office 2016 and one running W7 and office 2016.

Download from IBM the latest Service Pack update for iSeries version 7.1, which is currently SI66062.  You may need to download and install both VCREDIST_x64.exe and VCREDIST_x86.exe before installing the service pack.  (One of the computers I couldn't install the service pack until I installed both of the vcredist files). The other computer I was able to just install the service pack. Once done both installed the CWBTFCAI.DLL file without issues. You will need to select comm add-ins and not excel add-ins prior to selecting the path to the file.

I am having the same issue.  Excel in O365 will not import CWBTFCAI.DLL for Data Transfer Add In.  This is on a domain computer.

Excel add-in errors can be caused by compatible issues or a recent update. To resolve your concern, we'd like to confirm if the computers being used is under a company work domain or are they for personal use?

We look forward to your response to our query.
