MSOCache is taking so much space, can I delete or move itÉ

My 700 GB hard drive only has 70 GB free since upgrading to Windows 10 and Office 365.  I have discovered that the MSOCache folder is taking 300 GB. Do I need this folder?  If not, how can I delete it?  If I must keep it, can I reduce its size or move it to an external drive?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Can't answer that since have never moved that folder and honestly, not sure why you'd want to. Just need to run <Setup> from your original install media (or from your online download/install location)

Hi Catrina438, MSOCache contains the files required to fix your Office Installation, should you ever need to repair the installation.

Office by default will look for that folder in the root of your C Drive, so moving it is not advised at all . . .

    Thank you for the replies.

I will move the folder to an external Drive.  Should I need to repair or add features to Office, can I simply move it back to C, it's original location?

    Thank you.

MSOCache is what's known as a "Local Install Source" used to repair or add additional features to your Office installation. If it's removed, you would need to perform those functions using the original full setup media but otherwise does not adversely affect the operation of your system.
