How do I change the color of an individual slice in a piechart?

I want to change the color of an individual slice in a pie chart, but can only change the overall theme. I cannot select individual slices and define a unique color outside of a theme. How do I do this?

    Hi Carla,

    To change the color of an individual slice in a pie chart, you can follow the steps below:

    1. Click on the portion of the pie char you want to change.
    2. Right-click on the chart section you want to change.
    3. Click Fill.

    1. Choose the color you want.

    What Tisky said.  But to clarify:

    Click on the pie part of the chart

    Each of the slices will get selection handles.

    Then click AGAIN on the pie slice you want to change; this slice only now has selection handles.

    NOW right-click on the slice you want to change and format it as you would any other shape.

    The chart will not let me individually select a slice and change the color. When i try, to change the color, the entire chart changes color.

    I have done these steps. The chart never allows me to select an individual slice. It's not responding as listed in the solution.

    Did you follow STEVE's advice. It is crucial that you select the chart and click on the pie, then wait a second and then click again on the segment to be changed.
