Stuck in read mode

In Word 2016, I clicked on 'Read Mode' and now I can't get out of it. All my docs open in read mode, effectively disabling everything. How do I get out of it? In the Read Mode docs I don't see any options to change or exit from it.

    ETA:

    >> do you have buttons to the left of the zoom slider in the status bar?

Click the other button to switch out of reading mode.

Do you see the tab names?  Click on the tab names to expand the ribbon. right click on them and choose Collapse ribbon (it is checked when its collapsed)

do you have buttons to the left of the zoom slider in the status bar?

In file, options, general - one of the last options is to open email attachments in reading mode.

Never mind, I found it! Upper right icon, 'Show tabs & commands'.

Sorry to be a bother, and thanks again!

Thanks, Diane. I clicked on the 'print layout' box and that solved the immediate problem of getting out of print mode. But the reason I was fiddling with the modes was because the top ribbon with all the options disappeared, and I still can't figure out how to get it back. Hope you have another helpful tip!
