Excel 2016 will not scroll when editing formula

Yesterday, March 8, 2018, my Excel 2016 stopped scrolling with my mouse wheel when I press F2 to edit a formula.  Until then, when I selected a cell containing a formula and pressed F2, the cells in the formula would become highlighted and I could use my mouse wheel to scroll down the spreadsheet and see the cells contained in the formula.  Now I have to use the righthand scroll bar to do that.  I have always had my Excel 2016 set to allow editing formulas directly in cells.  I did not deliberately change any settings yesterday and do not think my computer installed any updates installed since Feb 25, 2018.  This change is very counterproductive and I want to get back to where I was.  Any help or explanation would be much appreciated.  Regards, Jerry

Believe it or not, two days ago my Excel suddenly returned to its old self and will now scroll with the mouse wheel when a cell is selected and F2 is pressed to edit the cell formula.  As always, it will scroll as long as the cursor is in the formula in the cell but not when the cursor is in the formula bar.  I did nothing to cause the change and am not aware my Excel or Office was updated but I can not be sure about that.  What a relief.  Unfortunately, Microsoft did not give me any help.  I am beginning to think that Office and/or Excel is so complicated and written by so many people that no single person understands fully how it works.  Perhaps it is simply unstable and does strange things at times and no one has a clue what or why it is doing that.  Anyway, I sure hope this problem does not reoccur.

Hi, I have the exact same problem as Jerry with my Office Home & Student 2016 and also 'repaired' the program as suggested by Jason.

This however also did not resolve the issue.

I also need further assistance to solve this please.

    Regards

    Leon

I followed the instructions to repair my Office Home & Student 2016 which appeared to reinstall the programs.  However, that did not solve my problem of suddenly not being able to use the mouse wheel to scroll down the spreadsheet and see the cells contained in a formula after selecting the cell with the formula and pressing F2.  Any more suggestions?  Did Microsoft change the Excel program recently?  Please help.
