Does anyone know how to insert a multi-page .pdf file into a powerpoint ? I would like to have the first page of the document visible if possible, and be able to open the entire document in a new window with a double click or right click.

Use Insert Object > From File > as icon (not really necessary to be icon but easier) not Linked. Select and in animations > Add Animation > OLE Verb > Open

Open the PDF in Acrobat Reader and Edit > Take snapshot to make an image of the first page

Paste this image over the icon

Go back to the animation pane and trigger the ole verb animation with a click on the picture.

    Hi Kathleen,

It is possible to insert multi page PDF file content into a PowerPoint presentation, however, it will show up as an object, link, or an icon.  We suggest checking these articles about inserting PDF file content into a presentation and using PowerPoint with PDF files to resolve your issue.

Get back to us if you need further assistance.

     Thank you!

I was using insert-->object--> select file. That seemed to work. So what is happening if, after i insert the link, and upon inspection it seems to work fine, but after closing then re-opening the file, the link no longer functions?
