I need to merge four pdf documents into one pdf document for a job application. I do not want to have to pay for an upgraded adobe. I have Microsoft 365, can't I do this through Microsoft? Anyone know how I can accomplish this simple task without incurring additional expense?

It isn't possible to merge PDF files from within the Office programs. However, the task is possible in some of the freeware PDF converters that install as virtual printers. PrimoPDF would be one example.

    Hi SuzanneO

    1. Within Acrobat, click on the Tools menu and select Combine Files.
    2. Click Combine Files, and then click Add Files to select the files you want to include in your PDF.
    3. Click, drag, and drop to reorder the files and pages. Double-click on a file to expand and rearrange individual pages. Press the Delete key to remove unwanted content.
    4. When finished arranging files, click Combine Files.
    5. Click the Save button.

    Hi Suzanne,

It may seem like a simple task to you, but it is not, especially not for Office. Microsoft spent a lot of time and money in litigation with Adobe.

However, you can download a free version of Acrobat Pro 8 that will do what you want. It is dated. It will install and run on Windows 10.

If you check online, you can likely find other utilities that will combine pdf's.

    I hope this helps.
