ERROR code: 0x80070185

When someone else in our OneDrive has downloaded files in the past, I used to be able to click on those same files and they would open without issue. Now, I get the above error code and have to continue to hit "try again." Does anyone have any idea as to why all of the sudden I'm having this problem? Thank you.

I had had the same issue for almost 3 weeks now and Microsoft are completely unable to fix the issue.

    I have:

    1. deleted the cache - didn't work
    2. deleted OneDrive and reinstalled - didn't work
    3. Unlinked the PC and relinked - didn't work
    4. Completed deleted every file and reference to OneDrive and then reinstalled - didn't work

The advice in this thread is completely and utterly useless. Microsoft are logging the faults and just give the same advice - that they know doesn't work, to everyone.

What a complete and utter shambles.  I am quitting OneDrive after about 10 years and moving to DropBox

Hello. I am a OneDrive advisor here to help. Please try resetting your OneDrive as follows

Press the Windows key + R to open the Run Window.
In the Run Window enter the following: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
Select OK. The OneDrive system tray icon on the desktop should disappear and re-appear after a minute or two.
If the OneDrive system tray icon does not re-appear after a few minutes, do the following. In the Run Window Enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe
Get back to us if you need further assistance.

Please let me know if you need further assistance

Well, I've tried the supposed solution but it still refuses to sync. Says the cloud operation was unsuccessful. Doesn't give me a lot of faith in the Microsoft cloud. So I guess I'll have to switch to Google Drive instead.

That fixed the problem with one document. Tried opening another document this morning and now I'm getting "Error 0x8007017C: The cloud operation is invalid."
