Document has a line in the header. This shows properly in print layout but does not in print preview. Also, it does not print. This is a new problem, the document behaved properly before AND it's only on one PC. On any other PC, the line appears in print layout and print preview, and it prints.

OK. I see. A picture is definitely worth more than a few words!

Check the options on your user's PC to see if it is set to print drawing objects (i.e. the line).

    Hi,

It often comes as a surprise, but the print view and even the print preview are approximations of what will be printed. Print preview is much closer, though.

Word decides what goes where in a document based on the printer driver being used. This is software distributed by the printer manufacturer. The settings for each printer are different.

Word documents will often print differently on different computers.

You can minimize this by using wide margins and dynamic page breaks like page-break-before formatting for certain headings.

Screenshots and sample documents can help us provide more precise help.

Here's how to post a screenshot:

If you want, save a sample document with the problem on OneDrive or Dropbox and paste a link here. Remove any confidential or sensitive information first. I can take a look at it. I may be able to fix it for you and explain what I did.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions or require further help.

    Regards

Thanks! That was it. I figured it was a setting somewhere but couldn't figure out what.

Appreciate the fast response. Have a great day.

    Cheers,

    Philippa

    Print layout view:

    Print Preview:

This is on my user's PC. This same document on my PC prints and displays properly; i.e. with the line in the header. Thanks
