MicrosoftRegistrationDB.reg location-can it be changed?

Is it possible to change the default file location of MicrosoftRegistrationDB.reg?

I ask because I currently have my Word Preferences and settings syncing between 2 different machines (via SugarSync). For some reason, I am being asked to sign in each time I use either machine (after using and closing the other machine's version of Word). This was not a problem in the past, but now it is.

If I could move the offending file the problem will be solved.

Many thanks in advance.

    Hi James,

Based on your description, the Macs keep asking you to sign in each time when you use either machine. To narrow down your situation, please try removing the activation files and reactivate Office 2016 for Mac:

Go to <YourUserName> Library > Group Containers and move the following folders to trash

    UBF8T346G9.ms

    UBF8T346G9.Office

    UBF8T346G9.OfficeOsfWebHost

    Regards,

    Tisky

Thanks both. I should have specified: I am using Office 365 Enterprise version. But I am being asked to sign in on both machines whenever I go back and forth. Is there a way to obviate this?

What's so odd is that for the longest time I had no trouble at all using the exact same set up. SugarSync notices a conflict and proliferates copies of the file with each sign-in.

(Tempted to copy the file, and move it out and back in whenever I use either machine or the other, but it may be simpler just to sign in.)

Rich is Correct. However, "if" you subscribed to Office 365 what used to be Home Office version you entitled to install a copy on a separate machine (or Partition) and sign in be able to use with continually signing end. It either $99.00 a Year or $9.99 a Month and you must have an internet connection all the time so that the program and the verification server can talk to each other.

No, if you move it, it will be regenerated in place. There is not a user accessible setting where you can point to a different location for the file.

The location it is in is the user Sandbox area that Microsoft must use for its files.
