MS Word 2016 missing tool bar

I have MS Word 2016. When I open Word, the tool bar shows. When I open any previously saved document, the tool bar goes away. All I have left is  a bar that says "Files Tools View" and then the Maximize and Minimize buttons. How do I get my tool bar back?

    Hi Bobbie,

Double-clicking on any tab should give you the ribbon (tool bar).

In the top right corner of your screen should be a small rectangle with a an arrow. Click on that and select Shot Tabs and Commands.

Writing this I am assuming you are on a Windows version. The commands for a mac may be different.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions or require further help.

    Regards

    Hi Bobbie,

Try double clicking on the View tab to see if that resolves the issue, if not, please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing . . .
