I'm about to switch from business premium to home or personal. I'm concerned about about a seamless transfer of email and data perhaps not being seamless and would like to know how best to make the transition. I'm really concerned about maintaining the flow of email - none of the addresses will change by the way.

I’m an Office 365 Business user for at least 20yrs. My shift in products is a long time overdue - for a reason. This isn’t me ranting... simply observing. My minimum phone calls are an hour long. My record - 6hrs. 50% on hold 50% seeking answers in how to safely do one thing - preserve my data. In some cases, salvaging it. I’ve lost critical notes in contacts, critical contacts, and critical emails. Facing this challenge again, I called, held 30min,spoke 10minutes, cut off at the 48th min. Called Business again and after xx time, was told I needed to call Home. Called Home and was told to call Business. This was approx 3hrs on the phone to get here. Over the years I have come to expect this. That’s not good for any company or client. I can’t simply have good faith with no responsibilty any longer. My time and data are too important to give up in the prayer that “don’t worry, this time it will work” will actually work. If it’s simple to shift from Business to Home, I would invite one tech to walk me through this. We’ll see if what’s promised can be delivered. Thank you.

    Hi FredSW911,

It isn’t feasible to switch directly frrom Business plan to Home or personal plans. You may purchase Office 365 for Home or personal plan, and export data from your Office 365 account to PST file, then import it to your personal account (Microsoft account): Export or backup email, contacts, and calendar to an Outlook .pst file.

    Thanks,

    Anna

    Hi FredSW911,

About lost critical items in user account, I suggest you may run a content search in Office 365 Security & Compliance center to see if  you can find all items.

You may not able to directly switch from Office 365 BP to Office 365 for Home,  and if you still want to use Office 365 for Home, Office 365 for Home need a Microsoft account, you may purchase it and back up your Office 365 account items then import to Microsoft account.

    Thanks,

    Anna

As an observation, and using 365 Business which I have for at least 5 years, I have never had to call support, have never lost any data or mail, so I'm perplexed as to the unknown problems suffered.

The systems run 24/7 here as various process complete overnight.

(I also suffered no such issues with previous versions of office)

    .

Is your data stored on OneDrive, or the local PC?

What type of mail account do you use, and or who is the mail provider?

The primary Office components are the same no matter what licence type, its just that Business has some additional ones, and has OneDrive Business.

I also see no record of you posting any queries/problems.
