Hi,

I have a Samsung S9+. When I first got it and loaded the Office 365 apps, it worked fine.

Now when I try to start up Word, Excel or PowerPoint, it crashes on app startup. I get a message that the app has stopped working.

I have an Office 365 subscription.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I faced the same problem. Removing the Office account from my system and then starting Word was the solution for me. Sorry you had to go the the length of resetting your phone.

Hi Marco's. Thanks for the suggestion. But I can't even open the app to get to the menu to reset. Any other ideas?

    Hello DavidWon1,

The application might be corrupted which causes it to crash immediately when you tried to launch it. You can try to uninstall and reinstall the application first before trying the suggestion that MarcosAraujo2 suggested as resetting the application on your device is our last resort. Make sure that you have backup your files before performing the factory reset.

Have you tried to clear cache? Or unistall and reinstall again.

    Head to the Settings menu.
Find Apps then locate the Excel app.
Click the buttons for clearing cache and app data.

I suggest you to reset Word and Excel application by doing the following and check if it work as expected.
Tap Menu to access Office Mobile settings on Android Phone.
Click Reset Office mobile application (Word & Excel) (This will erase all app data and bring the app to its initial state).
Open Office application and check if the issue occurs.

I hope the above information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards
