Hi!

I have office 2010 on our work computer and would like to upgrade it to 2016. I've read I'm not able to do that for free and have to buy a 2016 subscription - is this correct?

The company bought a package with 5 subscriptions - am I able to use that subscription to update the computer by just changing the product key?

Thank you!

    Hi Jessica,

Yes, there is no free upgrade from Office 2010 to Office 2016 . ..

Yes, you can use one of those 5 licences to install Office 2016 on your PC - before you do the, uninstall Office 2010 completely . . .

hello I am a fellow Community member here to help. Yes you are correct each new version of office in this case 2016 would require the purchase of a new set of licenses. In a lot of cases Microsoft does have a home use program or hup for members of a business organization. You may want to check to see if your organization participates as this would significantly discount the cost
