Microsoft: This is bloody ridiculous. Fix this issue or you are going to lose a LOT of customers - including this one.
If you spin it by looking at the positive side, MS is forcing people to be little bit more creative. For my use case, sometimes copied text from the browsers inserts with large line spacing. To restore it, highlight the lines and hit ctrl+shift+N.
OneNote is a free a product. It does not generate revenue for MS. As such, they are not under the same pressure to align with user expectations and experience compared to a paid product e.g. Evernote. The latter will think a million times before making changes that can potentially alienate their PAID customers. Sometimes they do and they are forced to rollback the changes.
This isn't the case here.
This seems to follow Microsoft's new design philosophy of minimizing functionality so they can code once and run on any device. I can live with the new ugly and boring UI but this is too much. To take one of the best applications they had and strip out the functionality to reduce it to the level of iCloud Notes. Of course we can copy and paste it into Word, then change the line spacing and copy and paste that into OneNote, but really?
Anyone got any suggestions for a good alternative. Any entrepreneurs out there taking advantage of the opening MS has created?
I do not understand what is happening to ON. OCR is gone, line spacing adjustment is gone, pages template customisation is gone. I am leaving ON.
