Add printers to Azure Virtual Desktop

Hi,

I can’t find a good article on how you can connect network printers, printers located in the office to cloudy Azure Virtual Desktop host.

I find information that it is necessary to use third-party products. Please tell me how you can implement the connection of such devices and scanning devices.

I can host the print server as a virtual machine in Azure using a VPN tunnel to the office to add these devices to the print server. But it seems to me that this is a difficult path, besides, do I need to somehow publish them in Azure AD?

Perhaps there is an easier way to add these devices that are on the office's private network?

It looks like a Universal Print should solve this problem. But can I install it on the print server in the office, can I add devices from the print server to Azure via the Universal Print connector?

AVD hosts are Azure AD joined.

    I understand you have some on-premise printers and want to access those printers from the AVD hosts. Please correct me if I am misunderstanding the issue.

    It sounds like Universal Print is what you are needing. Please checkout this tutorial which describes the necessary setup. You will need to install Universal Print connector if the printers are not Universal Print ready, this can run on any local Windows machine or a dedicated appliance. I also found this third-party blog which you might find helpful.
