The formula is simply: =B43-B44, the answer should be 1808. When I hit enter the answer shows as 0. When I input the formula through the formula wizard, the answer is shown as 1808 in the pop-up box but as soon as I hit Ok, it shows in the cell as 0.

    Hi James,

Do you still experience this behavior? Could you please try the following step to see whether it works? Please open Excel> File> Options> Formulas> tick Enable iterative calculation.

If you need further help, it would be better to share a sample workbook for us to test on our end. To protect your privacy, you may share it with us via Private Message.

    Regards,

The problem was that there was a circular reference somewhere else in the spreadsheet, which was feeding into one of the sum cells.

Could be due to the cell formatting.

Please check if the cell is formatted as General and try again.

    Andreas.
