Word Home and Student 2016 vs. Word 2016

What is the difference in functions and features between Word Home and Student 2016 and Word 2016?

It says on the website that the Home and Student version is for non-commercial use, which is vague! What if I use Word Home and Student 2016 to work as a journalist? Will it be considered as commercial or non-commercial use?

A sales support agent told me the Home and Student version doesn't not allow add-in. A technical agent said it doesn't include Macro. Is there a comparison table?

The information that you received from the "sales support agent" and that you received from the "technical agent" are both incorrect.

As Palcouk says, there is no difference in any functions or features and that includes both the ability to create\use Add-ins and Macros.

There is no difference in any functions or features.

"non-commercial" means just that ie anything done for gain/monetary remuneration, is not licensed for.

Office Home and Student 2016 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. It does not include OneDrive or Skype (included with Office 365 versions) and is licensed for only one PC and only for home use.

Office Professional 2016 is also a one-time purchase, but it includes all the Office apps (adding Publisher, Outlook, and Access), plus OneDrive. See https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/office-professional-2016/cfq7ttc0k5f8?activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab, which also offers a comparison of Office 2016 and Office 365.

Office 365 is available only by subscription but includes all the Office apps (adding Publisher, Outlook, and Access), plus OneDrive and Skype, and can be installed on up to five PCs/Macs, five tablets, and five phones (see https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/office?activetab=tab:homeorpersonal).

Yes, but there is a difference! Word from Home and Student 2016 cannot be used for commercial use.  Word Standalone 2016 can be used for commercial use unless the software version you acquired is marked or otherwise intended for a specific or limited use, then you may only use it as specified. You may not use the following versions of the software for commercial, non-profit, or revenue-generating activities.

    a. For academic use, you must be a student, faculty or staff of an educational institution at the time of purchase. b.    Home and Student. (and other armed forces restrictions)

If there is no difference to their functionalities, then why would their prices are different?
